About Karen S. Sieczka

Karen is a workplace training professional with over 10 years of experience in the education and workplace training, instructional design, and learning field. Her graduate studies led her to pursue personal research on the role of creativity in the workplace and the factors hampering the idea process. This research became the foundation for her first training book, Growing Great Ideas: Unleashing Creativity at Work, published in late 2008.Karen released the updated, expanded Kindle edition of the book, titled Growing Great Ideas: Unleashing More Creativity@Work in March 2011.
Some of Karen's accomplishments:
- January 2013, Karen accepted the volunteer role of Director of Professional Development for ASTD Greater Atlanta Chapter.
December 2012, Karen was awarded the Outstanding Contribution in Communications award from ASTD Greater Atlanta Chapter
October 2013, Karen accepted the position of Instructional Designer with GP Strategies Corporation.
February 2012, Karen became the E-News editor for the ASTD Atlanta Chapter.
December 2011, Karen accepted the position of full-time Training Specialist with Select Merchandising Services.
December 2011, Karen's article, Harvesting Creativity Through Social Media was published in Training Industry Quarterly, Winter 2012.
December 2011, Karen received the ASTD Atlanta Annual Scholarship Award
June 2011, Karen received the Internet and Computing Core Global (IC3) certification.
May 2011, Karen received her Microsoft Office Word Expert 2010 certification.
April 2011, the Creativity@ Work Exercise, It's Not What You Think, was published in the ASTD book, Road-Tested Activities.
Feb. 2011, Karen accepted the position of part-time Training Coordinator with Select Merchandising Services.
December 2010, Karen was awarded the 2010 Contribution by a New Member for ASTD Atlanta Chapter.
